How to make your BSNL Dataone WiFi Connection Secure

here are thousands of people in every city of India and world over who leave their WiFi network unsecured and leave themselves to risk of getting into unseen troubles. The recent WiFi network hacking case of Mr. Kamath of Kamran Power Control by terrorists is a classic example of how big and serious problem it can create.

So, when terrorism and mafia has spread its wings across world, it becomes very important that we secure our WiFi network and restrict un-authorized access to our computer IPs.

I use Dataone service and have WiFi router from huawei Zxdsl 531. So, here is how to secure it.

1. Type

http://192.168.1.1/

on addressn bar of your browser and login.

2. Click on “Wireless” link on leftside of the website..

3. Click “Security ” under wireless menu and enable “WEP Encryption”

4. Select Encryption Strength as 128 bit

5. Select Network as any 13 ASCII characters.. like

fbejybjqygf53 (DO Not use this one)

Save and apply. Thats it.
